Rangers Offseason: Young Targets Health, Seager & Jung Surgery Talk
Arlington, the season’s over — now Chris Young just drew the offseason blueprint in big red letters. At Monday’s end-of-year presser at Globe Life Field, the Rangers president of baseball ops said the club must address “health, reliability, dependability.” Texas logged 34 injured-list stints in 2026, tied for most in the AL West. Corey Seager and Wyatt Langford started together just 76 times. Josh Jung missed 47 games on a lingering calf before a late hand fracture. Jack Leiter and Nathan Eovaldi each lost significant starts. Young also confirmed Seager (elbow bone spur) and Jung (hand fracture) are potential surgery candidates, with courses of action still being sorted. Danny Jansen may need a small hand procedure; Jacob deGrom’s prescription is rest. Young wants the roster younger, more athletic, and tougher on the road — and he emphatically said this is a reshuffle, not a rebuild, after an 80-82 finish and a third straight miss of October.
