Though it was almost a forgone conclusion by fans and media that Wilson would be given a new deal, so far that has yet to be the case in this off season.

The defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks were looking to get off to a positive start for this new season and they accomplished that in front of their home crowd as they, at times, overwhelmed the Green Bay Packers on their way to a 36-16 win last night to kick off the new season of the NFL.

Nobody knew Seattle's defensive was that good. The Seahawks simply bullied the Denver Broncos the entire game to win Suoer Bowl XLVIII 43-8. There were big plays made in all phases of the game. Here is a video recap of Super Sunday:

The National Football League's 48th Super Bowl is coming upon us quickly, and after a much needed 2 weeks off, the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks square off in what might be the most anticipated Super Bowl match up since it's creation. No one knows for sure who will pull out the win here, but my gut is going with the Denver Broncos even though the statistics favor the Seahawks.

Here is a quick guide for what to expect this Super Bowl Sunday when the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos take the field.

NFL: Has Sherman been painted as "the" NFL bad guy?

All over the internet and other media outlets, Seattle Seahawks defensive back Richard Sherman is either being portrayed as a "thug" or the NFL's newest bad guy. Even as a faithful San Francisco 49ers fan, I'm in inclined to believe that they've got the picture all wrong, Sherman was just caught up in the moment.

Considered by some to be the best defensive player in the NFL this season, San Francisco 49er's inside linebacker NaVarro Bowman was having a dream season for any defensive player, and that season ended in the worst possible way, a gruesome injury and an upsetting loss to their NFC West rival, the Seattle Seahawks.

The NFC Title game is what we all expected, it was rough, dirty, and controversial, from reports of Seahawks fans dumping popcorn on San Francisco's linebacker NaVarro Bowman, who had just suffered a gruesome knee injury in the 4th quarter after stripping the ball from the Seahawks, only to have the refs give the ball back to Seattle, to an unknown 49ers personnel clotheslining a Seahawks special teams player when he was pushed out of bounds.

While the AFC title game is match up between old-school, gunslinging rivals, the NFC title game features new school, multi-dimensional team rivals, the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers. These teams are facing off for the third time with season, with each winning at home.

In a rainy and windy Seattle, the New Orleans Saints couldn't capitalize on their defenses effort, forcing Seattle to punt 6 times, and holding them to a total of 277 yards, but the Seahawks once again proved why they have the leagues best defense, dominating the Saints offense in every aspect.

Now it's time to weed out the best and worst teams of the remaining NFC contenders. Starting off the divisional weekend is the New Orleans Saints going on the road to Seattle Seahawks home field.

NFL: How many lives does Matt Flynn have?

I know some people are looking at the title of this article and they are saying who gives a flying fill in the blank of whatever you want to say there. Some people probably are laughing with me because they know I pay close attention to the whereabouts of Mr. Flynn.

NFL: The Matt Flynn Effect

Matt Flynn was released this week by the Oakland Raiders. This comes as a surprise being that the Raiders traded for the Quarterback this off season with plans of him being the starting QB. It seems harsh, but don’t be sad for Matt because his pockets have been laced salute to him for that.

The Seattle Seahawks have a good team and a great home field crowd which leads to an amazing home field advantage.

One of the most anticipated matches of the year happened Week 2 when the Seahawks and 49ers linked up. This matchup highlighted two great defenses with explosive offenses. There has been Madden 25 commercials highlighting the teams dual threat star Quarterbacks respectively Colin Kaepernick and Russell Wilson. I waited all day for this one game and Breaking Bad (heck of an episode wasn’t it?) and boy was I pissed but I realized how tough it is to play the Seahawks at home and calmed down. Before I blew a gasket I remembered what happened to the Saints playing at CenturyLink Field in the playoffs in the fact that no team has beat them there since 2011 and it made me say one thing during this year’s playoffs no one wants to play them at home, I mean no one.
