Point Guard Jeremy Lin Possibly a Rocket.

The former New York Knicks point guard, Jeremy Lin, is currently a free agent, after having a "Cinderella" type of year! He came out of know where and got his chance to start for the Knicks in mid-season, and shined! He started out averaging over 20 ppg, then once teams starting adjusting to him, and his play style, he only scored about 14 ppg.
The 23 - year old Lin has a decision to make. The Houston Rockets have offered him a 3yr 25 million dollar contract, but the Knicks have until midnight tonight, July 17, to offer him a contract, or he will most likely end up going to the Rockets. The Knicks have recently signed point guard Jason Kidd, and they traded to get point guard Raymond Felton from the Portland Trail Blazers.
Carmelo Anthony would "Love" to see Lin get re-signed with the Knicks. “I would love to see him back, honestly, I would definitely love to see him back. But knowing the business of basketball, it’s kind of a tough situation, kind of for both parties. With Jeremy, I know he definitely would want to be back in New York, and with the team, (owner James) Dolan definitely wants him back. But it’s just a matter of figuring it out," said Anthony after an interview on Sunday, July 15. Now it's all in the Knicks hands' now to see whether Lin goes to the Rockets or not.

Do you think Jeremy Lin should go to the rockets or re-sign with the New York Knicks if they offer him a new contract? Where do you think is the right fit for Jeremy Lin?

Pirates Stopped as Brewers Score Four in the Sixth.

The Pittsburgh Pirates met their match today when they traveled to Milwaukee to face the Brewers. On the mound for the Pirates today was A.J. Burnett, their star pitcher that came over from the New York Yankees. Burnett had won nine consecutive games, despite the no decision he had on july 8, against the Houston Astros. On the other side the Brewers had Yovani Gallardo, who has had a decent year with a record of 8-6.
You would think by looking at who's pitching and at both lineups, that the pirates would have an easy win. But think again. The Pirates struck first blood as Andrew McCutchen hit a solo shot off of Gallardo, to get his fifth home run in four games. Despite the home run Gallardo had a very solid performance striking out a career high of 14 out of  the 17 Pirates who went down on strikes. The Brewers weren't phased at all as they scored four runs in the sixth, that started with a Pirate error, and led to Nyjer Morgan coming home from second. The Brewers held strong for the rest of the game, as they won 4-1, shocking the Pirates.
Burnett seemed pretty disappointed after the game, receiving his first loss in 9 straight decisions. ""That's probably the best stuff I've had in a long time," Burnett said. "I tried to minimize the damage the best I could, but a couple runs in the sixth, that's the ballgame."(By JR Radcliffe / Special to MLB.com).
The Pirates will be heading to Colorado tomorrow, July 16, to face the Rockies at 8:40 p.m., While the Brewers will be getting prepared to take on the St. Louis Cardinals at there home field tomorrow, July 16, at 8:10 p.m.

Do you think this win will motivate the Brewers and turn their season around to make the playoffs? After his loss today, how good do you think A.J. Burnett will pitch in his next start?

Trade Talk Rumors About Howard Going To Rockets.

There has been a lot of trade talk concerning the Orlando Magic star Dwight Howard. The Houston Rockets are the latest suitor trying to close in on getting Howard. Originally Howard was wanting to be traded to the Brooklyn Nets, but unfortunately with the re-signing of Deron Williams, and the landing of former Atlanta Hawks star Joe Johnson, the Nets didn't have enough money to bring Howard into the mix.
Houston has reconstructed a trade that would work for both squads. With the Magic having to reconstruct their whole team, the Rockets will possibly be bringing in four other Magic players as well. The Rockets have already released Luis Scola to clear more cap space so the trade can happen.

The trade involves the Rockets having to take over the contracts for Glen Davis, Jason Richardson, Chris DuhonOn, and possibly Hedo Turkoglu from the Magic, to obtain Dwight Howard. In return the Magic will be acquiring Kevin Martin, Patrick Patterson, Marcus Morris and Chandler Parsons, from the Rockets as well as their first-round pick that they got from the Toronto Raptors in a previous trade. In order for all this to happen, the Magic have to decide if it's worth going through with this blockbuster trade and rebuild their team.

Do you think the Orlando Magic should go through with this trade and rebuild their whole starting 5? Do you think they should look for other offers before they decide on going all the way with this deal?
