More NBA Trade Rumors

Will Trevor Ariza stay in Houston?

NBA Trade Rumors

by Da`Vince “Dino” Wright

It`s that time of year! Every team is gearing up for the playoffs and getting the right fit to make a run at the NBA Championship. First things first, you have to look at cap space, long term deals and locker room fit. Dwight Howard is at the to of the list. Marc Gasol, Mike Conley, Al Horford, Goran Dragic, Hassan Whiteside, Luol Deng and Randy Foye are just a tip of the iceberg.

Dwight Howard is the key to the movement. During the All-Star break it was rumored that the Rockets wanted a 3 team trade for Howard. “I never ask anyone for a trade. The team and I will fix what`s broken”, Howard said. “You have to remember that they`re only rumors that`s all”.

Howard wants a max deal deal that could land him 8 years 124 million, but Houston is reluctant. “Why would you give a player that kind of money and he only practices every other practice,!” said Houston`s ex coach Kevin McHale. Houston thought of trading Howard to Memphis for Marc Gasol before he went down with an injury last month.

The Heat has their eyes set on Houston swingman Trevor Ariza. Ariza loves it in Houston along side Harding.

Take a look at Randy Foye in Denver. Denver is guard heavy with rookie Emmanuel Mudiay getting better and Jameer Nelson on the bench to provide a spark.

The New Orleans Pelicans are going back and forth with Bucks big man Greg Monroe. He would be a good fit with Anthony Davis in the post. The Pelicans are also flirting with Omer Asik and Ryan Anderson in a trade.

Stay tuned!

James Harden is in the Philippines doing charity work and was asked by the media out there on his take of the Rockets future without key players from last year. As we know the Rockets no longer have Jeremy Lin, Chandler Parsons, and Omer Asik all of which were key contributors to a 54-win team last year.

Most teams look forward to the NBA All-Star break as a time to rest, regroup, and refocus. For  the Rockets, in the middle of their best win streak of the season, the break could not come at a more inconvenient time.

The Houston Rockets are probably more concerned about losing back-to-back games to the Memphis Grizzlies to end the week than anything else. But during the week, the somewhat quiet Rockets voiced their opinions on other basketball related activities that are not on the court.

The Houston Rockets have hashtagged their 2013-14 season the “A New Age”. A fitting description for a team that began their new plan a season ago with the additions of James Harden and Jeremy Lin. This season the Rockets will add the big man they have lauded for, Dwight Howard. The nostalgia of past Rockets’ teams with All-Star big men have the entire city of Houston buzzing. Can the team live up to lofty expectations?

Don't Kill My Vibe: I'm excited for the "New" Lakers

by Matt Silverston

It's been a long time since the Lakers were the clear losers in ANY free agency battle, but that is the reality in Tinseltown as we speak.

For the first time in decades, critics are seriously debating whether the 2013-14 Los Angeles Lakers squad will even make the postseason, a feat that they've accomplished 18 out of the last 20 NBA seasons.

Oh boy, let me pour a glass of wine for this one.

NBA Jersey Burning: Shameful Fandom

by Matt Silverston

I will never ever be ashamed to say that I love the Los Angeles Lakers.

I've proclaimed my love through the championships, the trades, the coaching malfunctions, and the superstar experiments, and I've celebrated the ups and downs alongside the rest of Lakersnation with pride.

I showed Laker pride despite that fact that my fellow Laker brethren shamefully rioted and destroyed the city I love following the crowning of dynasties and the numerous trophy ceremonies.

I've been critical of every player from Elden Campbell to Kobe Bryant, but if you wore that purple and gold I supported you and your game.

Sure, I might've sounded off a fair number of criticisms over Pau Gasol over the years and yes, I was perplexed at Howard's overall season last year, but at the end of the day I am what I am: a Lakers lover.

NBA: Howard dips on the Lakers

Dwight Howard now a Houston Rocket
The Indecision 2013 came to a head last night as Dwight Howard chose to sign with the Houston Rockets. Howard took a 4 year 88 million dollar max deal to head to Texas. He left an extra year and 30 million on the table by bolting.
The Indecision didn’t come without some indecision after multiple sources stating that Howard would be signing with the Rockets, we got a report that it wasn’t final yet and that it was 50/50 between the Lakers and Rockets. Which later we found out was just Dwight being Dwight I guess.
