There comes a point in every great quarterbacks career that his franchise makes a difficult decision to part ways. The 49ers had to part ways with Joe Montana. The Packers had to sever ties with Brett Farve and even the Colts had to release Peyton Manning in start a new quarterback era. History has shown us that this was not a voluntary move on the quarterback's behalf. Let's face it. Many quarterbacks don't know when to retire and many teams ride with them too long. We have to remember this award is an individual award. A true candidate has to be the Most Valuable Player on the team. We know what the Broncos without Tim Tebow are....1 - 4. Look at the situation in Indianapolis with the winless Colts. Lose Peyton Manning and you lose the entire season. All the years that Peyton had success with the Colts could now be looked at as MVP seasons. Aaron Rodgers deserve the same mention with an undefeated Packers team. Tom Brady deserves it also for overcoming a terrible defense to be top in the AFC, for now. Tebow has 11 TDs to 2 INTs. He has made the rushing attack of the Broncos #1 in the league. He has totally changed the psychology of the entire franchise against every obstacle. This Sunday the Broncos have a chance to beat the Patriots. If they lose this game nobody will bat an eye, because after all Tebow's luck has to run out some time. But if he wins in his trademark fashion, he should be second in the running behind Rogers.

It sounds strange, but true! The big issues are off the table including rookie pay scale, veteran benefits, and game schedule. The hold up now appears to be the 10 plaintiffs in the case filed against the NFL. Some are seeking cash benefits in the $10 million range and others want special accommodations guaranteed by the owners and the NFL. Is this fair for 10 players to hold up 1,900?   With the playoff showdown set, Jets vs Pats III, the trash talk has been flying back and forth. Coach Rex Ryan started his banter even before the Colts game saying nobody studies film like Peyton Manning, not even Tom Brady though he would like to think so.   Bill Belichek, as always, has asked his team to adopt his stoic demeanor this week when baited by the press or the opposing team for headline fodder. Today things took a slight turn for the worst when Jets CB Antonio Cromartie shared his thoughts on Pats QB Tom Brady. When asked to describe him in a word, he used "asshole". He went on to say, "That's what I think about him. I don't really give a damn about him...I don't have to play against him. I play against the receivers."   Tom Brady's response, "I've been called worse.
