NBA: Nets Joe Johnson Talks Teams Play, Coach Kidd, and Taking The Last Shot

When the Brooklyn Nets started the 2013-14 NBA season, with a first-year head coach with a new roster of veterans, expectations where high. After a 10-21 record before New Years Day, those hopes turned into nightmares. Since then the Nets have the hottest team in the Eastern Conference with a 28-12 record, good enough for a fifth place seed.

After the Nets overtime win over the Dallas Mavericks (107-104), I had the chance to chat with six-time NBA All-Star Joe Johnson about the team's turnaround, his new coach, and what makes him so lucky in the final seconds of a game.

With the recent injury to starting PG Jrue Holiday, the New Orleans Pelicans acquired Tyshawn Taylor.

NBA: Jason Kidd pulls slick move for an extra timeout

With no timeout left with less than 9 seconds left in the game Jason Kidd told Tayshawn Taylor to bump into him so he would drop his drink. Hilarious, but smart because it gave him a free timeout to allow the Nets to draw up a last possession play.

The Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics made a blockbuster deal during the 2013 NBA Draft. Which the last few transactions the Celtics have been a part of we know they are in pure rebuild mode, which happens when your best players age it's apart of the game.

Nets top Pistons in double overtime 107-105; Johnson hits game winner

The free agent aquistion of Joe Johnson by the Brooklyn Nets paid off last night. Johnson had 28 points total, but it was his jumper at the buzzer of a second overtime that clinched the win.

"The coaches and, like I say, my teammates have the confidence in putting the ball in my hands down the stretch, then I have to come up big for us," - Joe Johnson
