NBA moves to new Finals format. Photo credit NBA  by J.T. of Front Office News Welp during the finals I wrote a piece talking about the 2-3-2 format being a disadvantage for the teams with home court advantage. It almost came to a head game 6 when the Heat were down 3-2 on the brink of the defeat at home in Game 6. Who knows if they are in that position if the format is the same as it has been all playoffs?

by JT I researched a fact I didn’t know and found out that the NBA Finals has had the 2-3-2 format since 1985. I personally didn’t realize the format was like this until 2008, did I have my head in the sand for that long? Probably but who does this format really benefit?
