Between free agency findings and signings that shook up the "power rankings" over the summer, a plethora of sustainability questions surrounding a two-time defending champ, and a new generation of influential NBA talent, there's something funky brewing out East.

More-Cowboys-will-be-named-in-Sam Hurd-drug-case

Sources are telling us to expect more NFL players, including Dallas Cowboys, to be named in association with Sam Hurd's arrest. Reports have stated there is a list of 10 - 15 NFL players that have allegedly done illegal business with Hurd. Hurd spent the bulk of his career as a Dallas Cowboy and it was during that time he began to make his drug connections. The Cowboys have been associated with the drug trade before with other ex-players being charged and even convicted of drug related offenses. The North Texas area has long been a hot bed of activity for federal agents which led to Sam Hurd hitting the radar. Reporters were met with angst in the Cowboy locker room when asking questions about their former teammate, including ESPN.com writer who got into a verbal altercation with Jay Ratliff and ended with the two having to be seperated. The NFL, Chicago Bears, and Dallas Cowboys have been in contact with federal agents.

Ozzie Guillen leaves Chicago for Florida

With only two games left in the season, White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen leaves after being unable to secure a contract extension. The dispute between Ozzie and GM KennyWilliams has been well documented and now seems to be a sticking point a deal was not done. Reports have surfaced that Ozzie has the ground work for a deal with the Florida Marlins who seem to want to pull out the big check book. Ozzie leaves Chicago has the only manager in the last 90 years to bring a World Series win to the Windy City. Your thoughts?
