North Crowley Kicks Off Week 9 Tonight at Skyline, Then Allen Meets Jesuit's Offense in the Friday Night Main Event

By Coach Terrence Booker, RF Sports Radio DFW High School Football voice
DFW high school fans, Week 9 starts tonight, and it starts with the best team in the area hitting the road. Then Friday brings the matchup I have been waiting on all fall: one of the stingiest defenses in the area against one of the most productive offenses in Dallas.
The facts
North Crowley (7-0) plays at Dallas Skyline (2-5) tonight, Thursday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 p.m., per MaxPreps. The Panthers are coming off the 76-point night we covered Tuesday and have been the standard in the area all season.
On Friday, Allen hosts Dallas Jesuit at 7 p.m. at Eagle Stadium, per Star Local Media's Pick-It Line. Allen is 7-0 with an average margin of victory of 30.1 points, has beaten four straight state-ranked opponents, and has scored more than 50 points in the first half against each of its last three district foes. The Eagles allow 241.6 yards and 13.3 points per game. Jesuit is 3-1 in district play and averages 398.3 yards per game behind quarterback J.P. Livingstone.
Also Friday, per Star Local Media: Frisco Lone Star, the only unbeaten team left in District 5-5A Division I, meets rival Frisco Reedy at 7 p.m. at The Star. Lone Star junior quarterback Trey Wright has thrown seven touchdown passes in each of his last three games, 988 yards in that stretch. Reedy is 3-1 in district after a 41-35 loss to Melissa and has senior quarterback Lincoln Harn back. Lewisville, 4-0 in District 5-6A and winners of six straight in the series, visits 6-1 Flower Mound at Neal Wilson Stadium. In 7-6A, Plano East has won three in a row and trails 4-0 Lake Highlands by one game heading to Richardson Berkner.
Down south, Duncanville at Waxahachie for second place in 11-6A is still on for Friday, per VYPE, and Mansfield Timberview hosts Ennis in a Thursday battle of unbeaten district teams.
RF Sports Radio's take (opinion)
My take: tonight is a business trip for North Crowley. The job against a 2-5 team is to get the starters out early, stay healthy, and keep the rhythm going toward the playoffs. Watch how fast the Panthers score in the first quarter; that tells you if they are focused.
Allen-Jesuit is the real test of the weekend. Allen has blown out everybody, but a quarterback-driven offense that moves the ball nearly 400 yards a game is a different animal. If Jesuit can keep it within two scores at halftime, we will learn a lot about Allen's defense.
Lone Star-Reedy is the rivalry game I would drive to. Seven touchdown passes three weeks in a row is ridiculous.
My call: North Crowley rolls tonight, Allen beats Jesuit by 17, Lone Star outlasts Reedy, and Lewisville makes it seven straight over Flower Mound. That is a prediction, not a report.
What to watch next
Thursday: North Crowley at Skyline, 7:30 p.m., and Ennis at Timberview. Friday: Allen-Jesuit, Lone Star-Reedy, Lewisville-Flower Mound and Duncanville-Waxahachie. Radio question: which offense scares you more this week — Jesuit's 398 yards a game or Trey Wright's seven-touchdown streak?
