Buffs-Utes Set for 9:15 P.M. CT on ESPN/ESPN2; Four Buffs Who Could Earn Bigger Roles

RF Sports Radio branded title card with Colorado Buffaloes logo: Colorado vs. No. 12 Utah set for 9:15 p.m. CT on ESPN or ESPN2

Buffs fans, the bye week now has a finish line, and it's a late one.

Utah announced that its Oct. 17 game at Folsom Field kicks off at 8:15 p.m. Mountain time, 9:15 p.m. Central, on ESPN or ESPN2, with the final network set after the Oct. 10 games. It's the 73rd meeting. The No. 12 Utes (4-0, 1-0 Big 12) have won eight of the last nine in the series and 12 of the last 14, and Colorado (2-3, 0-2) comes in on a three-game losing streak. Buffaloes Wire notes Utah leads the Big 12 at 43.3 points per game behind dual-threat QB Devon Dampier, and last year's meeting in Salt Lake City ended 53-7 Utah.

With the quarterback job still open, SI's Marvin Uzor makes the case for four Buffs to get more work. Freshman QB Kaneal Sweetwyne has been limited to a trick-play package: a 7-yard completion to Isaac Wilson on the first snap against Texas Tech and a fourth-down incompletion from the Tech 4. Running back Damian Henderson II turned three carries into 19 yards while the rest of the backs had 13 yards on 11 tries. True freshman lineman Xavier Payne, 6-7 and 320 pounds, made his first career start. Safety Naeten Mitchell had five tackles, including a 4-yard loss on fourth-and-1.

Deion Sanders after the Tech loss: "We're going to right the wrongs, looking to see how some of the young men respond."

Stay with Colorado Football through the bye. Radio question: should the Buffs give Sweetwyne a real shot, or ride with Wilson or Lewis against Utah?
