Dallas went to Rio for a showcase and left with a gut punch.
The Cowboys fell to the Baltimore Ravens 34-31 on Sunday at Maracanã Stadium when Tyler Loop drilled a 56-yard field goal as time expired. Dallas had just tied it on Brandon Aubrey's 23-yard kick. Seven seconds later, the Ravens flipped the field and the season flipped to 1-2.
Dak Prescott went 25-of-40 for 276 yards and a touchdown. CeeDee Lamb had 7 catches for 112 yards. George Pickens added 7 for 82. Javonte Williams ran for 98 yards and a score on 19 carries, and the Cowboys finally cracked 100 rushing yards as a team this season.
The path here: loss at the Giants in Week 1 (20-28), big home win over Washington in Week 2 (37-20), then this Brazil thriller. Next up is a short week on the road — Week 4 at the Houston Texans, Sunday, Oct. 4, 1 p.m. CT on FOX at Reliant Stadium.
The secondary took more hits in Rio (Jalen Thompson and Shavon Revel did not return; Jonathan Bullard also did not return with a calf issue). Dallas already entered the game thin in the back end. We'll wait on the official Week 4 injury report before locking any availability claims.
