Stars Set Initial Roster; Home Opener Festivities vs Blues Oct. 2

Victory Green, the exhibition fluff is over — Jim Nill just posted the first real roster card of 2026-27.

On Monday the Dallas Stars announced a 21-player initial roster: 12 forwards, seven defensemen, two goalies. Jake Oettinger and Casey DeSmith handle the crease; the blueline features Heiskanen, Harley, Lindell, Bichsel, Myers, Lundkvist, and Capobianco. Up front it’s the usual heavyweights — Robertson, Rantanen, Hintz, Johnston, Seguin, Duchene, Benn — plus Joel Kiviranta as the listed offseason re-add. Five players hit Injured Non-Roster.

Friday’s home opener vs. St. Louis (Oct. 2) gets the full AAC treatment: Victory Green Carpet Walk on PNC Plaza around 5 p.m. (fans can line up from 3), Party on PNC Plaza with live music, doors at 6:30, LED bracelets for the enhanced pregame, and a national TV slot on TNT. Miss Texas 2026 Stephanie Wendt drops the puck.

Lamar Odom: Flesh and Blood

by Matt Silverston Say what you want about Lamar Odom, and go ahead and criticize his lifestyle and the choices he's made, but I will never hesitate to stand up for those human beings who suffer from addiction and mental illness. Given that Odom's story as well as his whereabouts are uncertain and up-in-the-air at this time, the biggest issue at stake here is so much more than money, a reality TV drama, or a basketball hoop. His future livelihood as a healthy, spirited human being is under attack and in immediate jeopardy.
