Rangers Miss Playoffs Again After 6-4 Loss to Twins on Final Day

-

Arlington, take a breath — the 2026 Rangers season is over, and it ended one game short.

Texas lost 6-4 to the Minnesota Twins on Sunday in Minneapolis and finished 80-82. The Rangers needed a win and a Houston loss to claim the AL West. They got neither: Houston beat the Athletics while Texas stumbled. Third straight year without October baseball since the 2023 World Series title.

Manager Skip Schumaker didn't duck it. He pointed to a poor road record (35-46) and struggles against teams Texas "should have beat" (33-38 vs. sub-.500 clubs). Josh Bell's bat and Dean Kremer's seven innings carried Minnesota.

The offseason questions write themselves: roster construction around aging star contracts, consistency on the road, and whether this core can climb out of mid-pack. Painful. Honest. Necessary.

by Ace Feltman 2013-14 NBA Western Conference Preview. Photo credit NBA I love Holidays. I think they bring out buried feelings of joy and happiness in people that don’t often get to see the light of day anymore. Folks are happier, kids are giddier, and teens are pressing their folks for gifts, even on Mother’s and Father’s Day. But my favorite holiday of them all is Halloween. And it has absolutely nothing to do with costumes and or candy but rather the date on the calendar it represents. October 31st signifies the start of the basketball regular season! Either your team has one game under it's belt, or is preparing for game one or is glorifying a local television broadcast with fun Halloween graphics heading into and out of commercials. The 2013-2014 NBA season kicks off two days in advance of trick-or-treating with national broadcasts coming on October 29th put October in the rearview and gear up for the season ahead. Lamar Odom: Flesh and Blood

Image
by Matt Silverston Say what you want about Lamar Odom, and go ahead and criticize his lifestyle and the choices he's made, but I will never hesitate to stand up for those human beings who suffer from addiction and mental illness. Given that Odom's story as well as his whereabouts are uncertain and up-in-the-air at this time, the biggest issue at stake here is so much more than money, a reality TV drama, or a basketball hoop. His future livelihood as a healthy, spirited human being is under attack and in immediate jeopardy.
