No. 21 SMU: Jennings Sets Career Passing Mark in 34-24 Win

-

University Park is buzzing — and Kevin Jennings just rewrote the SMU record book.

No. 22 SMU beat Missouri State 34-24 on Saturday at Ford Stadium. Jennings went 33-of-39 for a career-high 464 yards with three passing TDs (four total TDs) and an interception, becoming the Mustangs' career passing leader. He also set program marks for career completions and touchdowns responsible for, including a school-record 21 straight completions in the game.

Yamir Knight (11 catches, 164 yards, TD) and Jalen Cooper (eight for 125) feasted. SMU piled up 592 total yards and seven sacks. The Mustangs moved up to No. 21 in the AP poll (No. 19 coaches) and sit 3-1.

The caveat every local host will hammer: turnovers. SMU has nine giveaways through four games and still hasn't won the turnover battle against an FBS foe. Next: Boston College at Ford Stadium, Saturday, 11 a.m. CT — first ACC home game.

by Ace Feltman 2013-14 NBA Western Conference Preview. Photo credit NBA I love Holidays. I think they bring out buried feelings of joy and happiness in people that don’t often get to see the light of day anymore. Folks are happier, kids are giddier, and teens are pressing their folks for gifts, even on Mother’s and Father’s Day. But my favorite holiday of them all is Halloween. And it has absolutely nothing to do with costumes and or candy but rather the date on the calendar it represents. October 31st signifies the start of the basketball regular season! Either your team has one game under it's belt, or is preparing for game one or is glorifying a local television broadcast with fun Halloween graphics heading into and out of commercials. The 2013-2014 NBA season kicks off two days in advance of trick-or-treating with national broadcasts coming on October 29th put October in the rearview and gear up for the season ahead. Image
by Matt Silverston Say what you want about Lamar Odom, and go ahead and criticize his lifestyle and the choices he's made, but I will never hesitate to stand up for those human beings who suffer from addiction and mental illness. Given that Odom's story as well as his whereabouts are uncertain and up-in-the-air at this time, the biggest issue at stake here is so much more than money, a reality TV drama, or a basketball hoop. His future livelihood as a healthy, spirited human being is under attack and in immediate jeopardy.
