DFW HS Week 6: Guyer at Braswell Headlines Friday Night Board

-

Friday Night Lights reset — Week 6 is a statement board across the Metroplex.

The Dallas Morning News hot ticket is Denton Guyer at Denton Braswell, 7 p.m. Friday at Carrico Stadium. Braswell’s 4-0 start is one of the area surprises; Guyer is still viewed as the District 5-6A team to beat. Both defenses have held foes under 21 points per game. A Braswell win flips the district narrative overnight.

Also circled: Frisco at Anna (Coyote Stadium) — Anna’s 48-ppg attack vs a Frisco defense allowing under 10; Flower Mound at Little Elm; Frisco Panther Creek at Prosper Richland; Highland Park at Richland; Euless Trinity at South Grand Prairie; Frisco Emerson at Celina; and more on the DMN board. Games tip Friday, Oct. 2 — scores come after the lights.

For DFW High School Football (https://rfsportsradio.blogspot.com/search/label/DFW%20High%20School%20Football), the radio question: does Braswell’s perfect start survive Guyer’s front, or does District 5-6A snap back to form?

by Ace Feltman 2013-14 NBA Western Conference Preview. Photo credit NBA I love Holidays. I think they bring out buried feelings of joy and happiness in people that don’t often get to see the light of day anymore. Folks are happier, kids are giddier, and teens are pressing their folks for gifts, even on Mother’s and Father’s Day. But my favorite holiday of them all is Halloween. And it has absolutely nothing to do with costumes and or candy but rather the date on the calendar it represents. October 31st signifies the start of the basketball regular season! Either your team has one game under it's belt, or is preparing for game one or is glorifying a local television broadcast with fun Halloween graphics heading into and out of commercials. The 2013-2014 NBA season kicks off two days in advance of trick-or-treating with national broadcasts coming on October 29th put October in the rearview and gear up for the season ahead. Lamar Odom: Flesh and Blood

Image
by Matt Silverston Say what you want about Lamar Odom, and go ahead and criticize his lifestyle and the choices he's made, but I will never hesitate to stand up for those human beings who suffer from addiction and mental illness. Given that Odom's story as well as his whereabouts are uncertain and up-in-the-air at this time, the biggest issue at stake here is so much more than money, a reality TV drama, or a basketball hoop. His future livelihood as a healthy, spirited human being is under attack and in immediate jeopardy.
