Baylor’s First True Road Test: Saturday Night at Arizona State

-

Sic ’em listeners — the homestand’s over. Tempe is next.

Baylor (3-1, 1-0 Big 12) hits the road for its first true road test Saturday, Oct. 3 at Arizona State, 9:30 p.m. CT at Mountain America Stadium on ESPN. The Bears just wrapped a three-game home stretch with a 23-13 win over Colorado and have held four straight opponents under 20 points — longest such streak since 2005, per BaylorBears.com.

ASU sits 2-1 under Kenny Dillingham, fresh off a 24-17 win over Kansas in London. The Sun Devils lead the all-time series 2-0, including last year’s 27-24 walk-off field goal in Waco. Roy Philpott, Brock Osweiler, and Sherree Burruss have the ESPN call.

For Baylor Football (https://rfsportsradio.blogspot.com/search/label/Baylor%20Football), the radio question: does that under-20 defense travel west, or does ASU’s home night spoil the Bears’ Big 12 start?

by Ace Feltman 2013-14 NBA Western Conference Preview. Photo credit NBA I love Holidays. I think they bring out buried feelings of joy and happiness in people that don’t often get to see the light of day anymore. Folks are happier, kids are giddier, and teens are pressing their folks for gifts, even on Mother’s and Father’s Day. But my favorite holiday of them all is Halloween. And it has absolutely nothing to do with costumes and or candy but rather the date on the calendar it represents. October 31st signifies the start of the basketball regular season! Either your team has one game under it's belt, or is preparing for game one or is glorifying a local television broadcast with fun Halloween graphics heading into and out of commercials. The 2013-2014 NBA season kicks off two days in advance of trick-or-treating with national broadcasts coming on October 29th put October in the rearview and gear up for the season ahead. Lamar Odom: Flesh and Blood

Image
by Matt Silverston Say what you want about Lamar Odom, and go ahead and criticize his lifestyle and the choices he's made, but I will never hesitate to stand up for those human beings who suffer from addiction and mental illness. Given that Odom's story as well as his whereabouts are uncertain and up-in-the-air at this time, the biggest issue at stake here is so much more than money, a reality TV drama, or a basketball hoop. His future livelihood as a healthy, spirited human being is under attack and in immediate jeopardy.
