HOUSTON, Texas – Texas Southern gained 447 yards of total offense, forced three turnovers and produced its highest point total in four years with a 63-0 victory of Bacone Friday night at BBVA Compass Stadium.

TSU quarterback Johnathan Bowen completed 8 of his 11 passing attempts for 163 yards and three touchdowns.  The first year starter also carried the ball 12 times for 103 yards.  Derrick Griffin, who scored the team’s second touchdown of the evening led the receiving corps with a pair of catches along with 99 yards and a touchdown.
The Tigers broken the game open in the second quarter when Bowen connected with Tracy Johnson on a 24 yards pass making the score 21-0.  On its next possession, Bowen scored again on an eight yard scamper and would later find Marc Edwards on a nine yard touchdown toss increasing the lead to 35-0 just before halftime.
Demetrius Johnson led the TSU defense with six tackles who would only gave 126 yards of total offense on the night.  The Warriors were also on 3-of-13 on third down conversions.
