Eddie Lacy is arguably one of the best rookies in the NFL. He was drafted in the 2013 draft in the second round by the Green Bay Packers. Lacy was a star at Alabama, but many questioned his NFL career. He proved them wrong.
Eddie was back up for James Starks, but when Starks was hurt in one of the first games of the season, Eddie received the starting position at Running Back.
Lacy literally hammered his way to the top. Breaking tackle after tackle, running through some of the best defenses in the league. Last season, his first in the NFL, Eddie ran for over 1,100 yards and scored 11 touchdowns. This was a relief for the Packers, considering they are mostly a throwing and receiving team. So, Green Bay got to change up the plays a little and run the ball more.
The Hammer doesn't take all the credit for himself saying, after one of his best games of the season, "Offensively, the offensive line, they came out, they were ready, they played physical, they opened up the holes for all of the backs, and the wide outs, they blocked downfield, and as running backs we were able to find the holes and make the plays and able to get the yards."
Eddie Lacy still has some growing to do, but after a few seasons in the league, he might turn out to be one of the best running backs in the NFL.
