This week the Celtics, Thunder and Grizzlies made an under the radar deal. The big deal in the NBA was the Bulls/Cavs swap, but I think this could be beneficial for all teams involved.
Let’s highlight the deal:
Grizzlies get:
G Courtney Lee and a 2016 2nd rd pick from the Celtics
Celtics get:
G Jerryd Bayless
F Ryan Gomes (Gomes was waived immediately)
Thunder get:
A conditional 2017 2nd rd pick from the Grizzlies
The Grizzlies needed the outside shooting and the Celtics received more financial freedom this summer. The Thunder somehow got a free pick and unloaded salary.
