The Detroit Tigers avoided arbitration with with 2013 Cy Young winner max Scherzer by signing him to a one year deal worth $15,525,000 million.
This signing buys the Tigers another year to see if they are going to commit major funds long term into Max.
Scherzer went 21-3 with an 2.90 ERA and 240 K's.
If Max has another solid or great season a lot teams will be pulling out check books if the Tigers don't.
He made a little over $6 million last year. That's nothing to sneeze at, but can you say pay day?
