Sadly, the college football season has come to an end. In the last year for the BCS, we saw one of the most dramatic games in a while. At halftime Jimbo Fisher told his team that the first half wouldn't be what everyone remembered. It was the comeback they’d talk about.
That's exactly what happened.
In the first half, Auburn was firing at all cylinders. Mason led his team to 21 first half points. The defense held Winston and the Noles' to ten first half points.
At half Auburn led 21-10, keeping all the momentum.
The third quarter was a drag. The only score was a field goal by Aguayo. State was slowly changing the course of the game.
Going into the fourth, I knew we were in for a treat. The quarter started with a horrendous throw from Marshall. It was short and off target, and the Seminoles picked it off.
Here comes Florida State.
Winston led his squad to a quick, five play, 56 yard touchdown drive.
We zoom forward to 1:06 left in the ball game. Winston said the men in the huddle looked him in the eye and said, "We got this Jameis." That's the confidence that they've had all year. They zoom down the field, and now it's crunch time. A costly pass interference call on Chris Davis set FSU up at the two yard line. Winston drops back and lets it rip...
TOUCHDOWN.
A high bullet to star receiver Kelvin Benjamin. On top of Chris Davis, the star of the season for the Tigers.
The Florida State Seminoles win the BCS National Championship.
What a year this have been.
