NBA: Russell Westbrook can’t catch a break

After watching Russell Westbrook on Christmas day, I thought to myself, “The Thunder are a real threat”. Westbrook was fresh off of an effortless triple double versus the Knicks. For Thunder fans it was no reason to panic, but after news their starting point guard will be out at until after the All Star break, it gives fans some reason to worry.

I think as long as Westbrook is ready for the playoffs the Thunder will be on, but will his knee hold up? During the season we saw him explode as we have in years past, so that is good to see.  Durant and others will hold the fort down, but if the Thunder going to tread the Western Conference they need a healthy Westbrook.

Westbrook went through arthroscopic knee surgery on his right knee. The same knee he jacked up during last year’s playoffs. I know Thunder fans “Got nothing but love/hate for Patrick Beverly”.

Westbrook is only 25 years old so that is a plus. Hopefully this doesn’t turn into a Dwyane Wade type situation. Hopefully this will be his last major injury for a while.
