Famous Jameis received 1,501 more points than the next eligible athlete, A.J. McCarron. This marks the seventh largest victory ever for the Heisman trophy.

Winston has been center of attention both on the field and off this NCAA football season. After he was not charged for an alleged assault case in Tallahassee, the focus shifted to his accomplishments quarterbacking the Florida State Seminoles to an undefeated record and ACC title. He is the youngest player ever to win the award at 19 and the second freshman.

He was very humble and respectful in his comments following the ceremony:
"When you see your mom and you see your dad and they've been struggling through this whole process and now you see a smile on their face, it comforted me."

The turmoil of a possible criminal charge only strengthened the bond of his teammates Winston said. He says it was never a distraction on the team.

The Seminoles will take on the SEC champion Auburn Tigers in the BCS Championship.
