Michael Murray Scores Career-High 27 in Loss to Saint Joseph's
BALTIMORE -- Junior Michael Murray scored a career-high 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, but Carl Jones led four players in double figures with 15 points and Saint Joseph's used a big run midway through the second half to pull away from Coppin State to post a 67-55 victory on Tuesday in the Physical Education Complex.Murray posted his fifth double-double of the season and reached double figures in rebounding for the seventh consecutive game. He ranks eighth in the nation in double-doubles and 16th in the nation in rebounding. Saint Joseph's shot 50.0 percent from the floor in the second half, while limiting Coppin State to just 28.6 percent shooting. Aiken and Galloway each had 14 points for the Hawks, while Chris Wilson added 10 points. Phillips connected on 5-of-10 from the field in the second half, at one points scoring 11 points on 5 straight possessions as the Bison overcame a seven-point deficit. The Eagles were led by junior Jeremy Ingram who contributed a team-high 18 points and Ray Willis who chipped-in with 16 points in the tough defeat. The two top scorers for EKU (8-0) were DiNunno with 21 points on 4-of-6 shooting from three-point range, and Cosey who stepped up in the second frame with all 11 of his points finishing 3-for-10 from the field, 2-of-6 from the outside. The Rattlers had five players to score in double figures. Jamie Adams, led the team in scoring with 18 points, followed by Reggie Lewis with 17. Jamari Bradshaw contributed 15 points, Muhammad Abdul-Aleem chipped in 14 and Markee Teal scored 11 to round out the Rattlers in double figures.
