Jameis Winston got through another week of off the field talk and build up to a big game to lead his #2 Seminoles to a 31-27 comeback win over #5 Notre Dame on Saturday night.

Winston got off to a slow start in the first half as the constant blitzing from the Notre Dame defense was confusing him and the Florida St offensive line for the first couple of series. Eventually they were able to make some adjustments and were able to check to another play every time the Fighting Irish showed that they were coming with some sort of a blitz.

It made the offense and Winston get into a real nice rhythm that would last the entire second half. Winston would finish with 273 yards passing and three touchdown passes against what was a very aggressive and physical Notre Dame defense.

Everett Golson and the Fighting Irish gave a very good accounting of themselves, especially for  a team that was a 14 point underdog coming into this game. They got off to a terrific start on both sides of the ball as they were able to establish their style of play and  make Florida St have to adjust to them when allot of people thought the Irish would have to do all the adjusting to the Seminoles. They gave the Seminoles their biggest test since they played Oklahoma St earlier in the season.

Golson would throw for 313 yards and three touchdowns on the night as he and the offense exploited weaknesses in the Seminoles defense that have been there all season long but were even more apparent against this potent, explosive offense of the Fighting Irish. The run game was solid, as they gashed Florida State at times which kept Notre Dame balanced on offense all through the game.

Notre Dame had  a late drive going to pull this win out, but an illegal pick play wiped out the game winning touchdown. The Seminoles would get the stop on 4th & goal and end what was a big challenge to them, as they got everything from the Irish in terms of effort and will.
