This week the Rams recently cut the roster down to 75, and the final cut will put the roster at 53 players after the game Thursday. Lately things have been emotional at Rams Park as they lost Sam Bradford for the season. The team will have to regroup and step up another notch to keep the team competitive.
Shaun Hill: Hill is a player to watch Thursday night because he is now the leader of the offense. The Rams had signed Hill this offseason in fear something could happen with Sam Bradford. He is a formidable backup and now will have to lead the Rams to where they want to go.
Michael Sam: Michael Sam, the team's seventh round pick, survived the first wave of cuts for the team. Now with one final dress rehearsal Thursday Sam will have another opportunity to show that he belongs on the Rams roster. He had two sacks against the Cleveland Browns last week, and he will look to build upon that this week.
Ethan Westbrooks: Westbrooks is Sam's competition this year for a roster spot as both of them play on the defensive line. As an undrafted rookie out West Texas A&M Westbrooks has had a stellar preseason and is definitely making it hard for the Rams to keep him off of this roster. Many believe it will come down to either Westbrooks or Sam for the last spot on the defensive line. The Rams could certainly find a way to keep both players but if not Westbrooks has a chance to solidify his spot against the Dolphins Thursday night.
E.J Gaines: With starting cornerback Trumaine Johnson going down with an MCL sprain last weekend against the Cleveland Browns Gaines looks to be the next man up. Gaines was a sixth-round pick by the Rams this year and has impressed in preseason before being banged up. He didn't play against the Browns last weekend, but it looks like he may get the start Thursday night in Miami.
Brian Quick: Quick has been looking more and more like what people thought  he would be so far in the preseason. Last week he caught four passes out of six targets and had a touchdown. The big receiver has another opportunity to close out on a strong preseason. With Hill, the starting QB Brian Quick will have to step more than expected. Keep an eye out on him in Miami as well.
