NBA: Los Angeles Clippers Owner Donald Sterling in Hot Water Over Racist Recording

TMZ Sports has posted a candid recorded conversation between Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling and his girlfriend.

In the conversation, Sterling argues with his girlfriend about her posting Instagram pictures with black people and bringing black people to the games. Sterling even went as far to name Magic Johnson specifically as someone he does not want at the games.

Johnson responded on Twitter:

"TMZ reported this morning that Clippers owner Donald Sterling doesn't want me or other African-Americans to come to Clippers games."

"[My wife] and I will never go to a Clippers game again as long as Donal Sterling is owner."

"LA Clippers owner Donal Sterling's comments about African-Americans are a black eye for the NBA"

NBA spokesman Mike Bass issued this statement:

"We are in the process of conducting a full investigation into the audio recording obtained by TMZ. The remarks heard on the recording are disturbing and offensive, but at this time we have no further information."

Sterling's disdain for minorities has long been rumored in the NBA for quite some time, but never to this magnitude. Players, both current and former, have weighed in on the situation in support of boycotting Clippers games and lobbying the NBA to discipline him. Everyone is watching very closely to see how new commissioner Adam Silver will handle the situation.
