NFL: Breaking Down the Future Impact of the 2013 QB Class: Part 2

Despite the next four QBs that I will break down were selected in the 4th round, there is still a future starting QB among them. That being said, there are still other questions. Why did Chip Kelly draft Matt Barkley? Why did Nassib slip so far? Will Tyler Wilson start over Matt Flynn? Have the Steelers lost faith in Big Ben? Well, let's dive in.

Philadelphia Eagles: Matt Barkley, 98th overall pick
This was one of the most baffling picks in the entire 2013 NFL Draft. While Chip Kelly may proclaim that he will scheme around Barkley, why does that even matter considering he will not start? Vick will almost certainly get the starting job considering that, like Mariota, he is a mobile QB. Barkley was drafted to be a fall-back, project QB. Barkley's decision making is near elementary and his arm talent is nothing more than average. There is no way that Barkley ever starts a game this season unless Vick gets hurt or Vick is an absolute train wreck.

New York Giants: Ryan Nassib, 110th overall pick
Before anybody jumps to a conclusion; no, Eli Manning will not lose his job. While I was not a huge fan of Ryan Nassib due to his awful deep ball, mediocre decision making, and inconsistency, snagging him in the 4th round was great value. Nassib fell because his former head coach at Syracuse, Doug Marrone, had 2 opportunities to draft him instead of EJ Manuel, but he didn't. This scared teams away and made them question Nassib's true talent and his character.

Oakland Raiders: Tyler Wilson, 112th overall pick
Mark my words: The Raiders drafted their franchise QB on April 27, 2013. Tyler Wilson may have struggled a bit in 2012 due to coaching problems, his 2011 tape is rather jaw-dropping. Wilson sports phenomenal arm talent and enough mobility to keep a play alive. It is well known that the Raiders already signed Matt Flynn at QB, but by week 8, he will again be out played by a rookie with the last name "Wilson".

Pittsburgh Steelers: Landry Jones, 115th overall pick
Big Ben's job is not at risk, especially not with Landry Jones. Jones struggles with his placement on throws and goes into a full-on panic when he sees pressure. If you can't deal with pressure in the AFC North, you can't play in the AFC North. Jones was drafted to replace Charlie Batch, not Ben Roethlisberger.
