The New York Yankees ran into one of the hottest pitchers in the American League Tuesday night as Detroit Tigers starter Rick Porcello (15-8) tossed eight stellar innings while yielding just two runs on nine hits as Detroit snapped the Yankees winning streak at 5 games with a 5-2 victory.

The New York Yankees offense continued to cook as they belted three home runs in an 8-1 rout of the Kansas City Royals on Monday night. New York has now won five consecutive games which matched their longest winning streak of the season.

The San Diego Padres have had an underwhelming season so far to date, being stuck under the .500 mark and being out of the NL West Division title race altogether. They have continued to battle issues with a less than formidable offense that has left them scrapping for runs in most games. The pitching though has been a very bright spot for the club. The star that has risen in that regard is Tyson Ross, who has had a very interesting road to get to this point in his career.

No, this is not the work of a drunken streaker at a minor league game but these are some minor league antics. Antics or should I say passionate team management at its finest. Growing up playing baseball, I would have daydreams of hitting home runs and stealing bases that clinched division titles for my team, but secretly I was saving something for later, something later to imitate, something that was my secret favorite part of the game.

In the fourth quarter of Friday night's USA Men's inter-squad scrimmage, Paul George suffered a terrible injury. James Harden was pushing the ball in transition, and Paul George was looking to stop the play he went to contest the layup and landed wrong resulting in his leg snapping. Immediately all players apart of the game felt pain for George as he laid helplessly.
