The Texas Rangers rallied for four runs in the 5th inning wiping out a 2-0 deficit to defeat the New York Yankees 4-2 on Monday night at Global Life Park in Arlington, Texas.

J.P. Arencibia’s two run bases loaded hit back up the middle into center field put Texas ahead for good.
Elvis Andrus got Texas on the board with a RBI single to left field that plated Chris Giminez from second base. After a single from Alex Rios that moved Andrus to third, Adrian Beltre ripped an RBI double down the left field line bringing in Andrus across home to tie the game up at 2-2.
Brett Gardner continued his power streak clubbing his 11th home run of the season into the right field seats and the third off Yu Darvish in the 3rd inning. Gardner has emerged as one of the few power sources in this lineup for New York that has been consistent from game to game.
Next, Derek Jeter who drove a single into right center field tying him with Carl Yastrzemski for 7th place on the all time hits list with 3,419. Its another milestone in what is a legendary career for Jeter.
In the top of the 5th inning, Gardner went deep again roping a 407 foot home run to dead center for his 12th homer of the season and 2nd of the game. Jeter moved solely into 7th place on the hits list with number 3,420 singling to right field.
Despite surrendering the two home runs to Gardner, Darvish went 7 innings to pick up his 10th victory of the season while striking out eight Yankees hitters. Though he did not have his a-plus stuff for this start, Darvish showed great fight as he overcame some setbacks within this start to still come out a winner.
Neftali Feliz pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his second save of the season. Starting New York pitcher David Phelps lost for the first time in nine starts as his record dropped to 5-5 on the season.
