Tuesday night proved to be a night to remember for baseball fans residing in the DC, Maryland and Virginia area. Both the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals clinched their respective divisions and have set themselves up to not only be in the postseason, but make a deep run in it.

The Washington Nationals have been pegged with high expectations  from the start of this season. For a good portion of this season, it looked as if the Nationals would be unable to live up to those expectations. As this month has progressed though, they came together as a unit and went on a ten game winning streak, playing their best baseball of the year. What was behind this recent surge by them? There are a couple of factors to this equation.

The Atlanta Braves continued their dominance over their NL East division rival in the Washington Nationals last night with a 3-1 victory that clinched the series win for them. This series between the two teams has gotten so lopsided in recent years it is getting to a scary point for Washington. Why is Atlanta so good when the Nationals are there opponent? Find out below.

Well not everything is going so swimmingly in Nationals land. Despite having a 46-38 record and only one half game behind first place Atlanta, not everyone is on the same page it seems as they continue to battle in this very tonight division race.

MLB: Zack Greinke Returns for the Dodgers

Zack Greinke Returns

On April 11 in a game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres, Padres outfielder Carlos Quentin was hit by a pitch thrown by Dodgers pitcher Zack Greinke. In retaliation to what he thought was an intentional attack, Quentin bull-rushed the mound, leading to a benches-clearing brawl between the teams that left Greinke with a broken left collarbone.
