MLB: Milwaukee Brewers, A Rise To The Top

Image
2014 Milwaukee Brewers are better than expected. Photo credit MLB  Coming into this new season, the Brewers were far from being predicted by the national baseball media and experts as a team that could contend and be a factor in the NL Central Division race, especially a division that had three teams in the playoffs last season not to mention the defending NL Champion Cardinals. by Michael Hanley

Ryan Braun: Forgive and Forget?

Image
Can you support Ryan Braun? Photo credit MLB  by Steve Painter  It was Spring Training in 2012 when Ryan Braun held a press conference and proceeded to lie and dupe a lot of fans about his involvement with PEDS. He threw fans, MLB, and specimen collector Dino Laurenzi, Jr. under the bus. He was very believable, and I walked away from watching that believing him.

MLB: The Brewers Get Garza

Matt Garza is now a Milwaukee Brewer. Photo credit MLB  by J.T.  As Cincinnati Reds fans I don't like this at all, not at all. Aye man judge me, I don't care. Garza is a good pitcher and he's going to be hurling against my boys this year. Good move by the Brewers, I can hate and still congratulate.

AL and NL MVP Races Heat Up

Image
By Ryan Henry      It’s getting close to the end of the season, which means that it is time to look at those in the running for MVP honors. In both the AL and NL there are two that distill to the top and a few that are fighting to stay in the conversation.  First, let’s take a look at the AL race. American League 1.        The first person you have to talk about when considering the AL MVP is the Angels’ Mike Trout. He currently leads the league in four statistical categories: batting average at .346, stolen bases (33), runs (86) and OPS+ (182). On top of that, he is sitting at an absurd 6.7 wins-above-replacement  (WAR) according to Fangraphs.com. He is playing for a contender, and could very well be the third player to win both rookie of the year honors to go alongside his MVP trophy, which would also go nicely alongside his likely Gold Glove. photo courtesy of the Los Angeles Angels 2.    ...
