Super Bowl 50: Peyton Manning vs Cam Newton

Peyton Manning vs Cam Newton

Peyton Manning Versus Cam Newton

by Da`Vince “Dino” Wright

We can easily say that Peyton Manning is one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play. He`s a 4 time NFL MVP and hes the record holder of many records for quarterbacks. Cam Newton on the other hand is the young brash undisputed leader of the new wave of NFL QB`s that`s taking over the league. Let`s take at look at the differences between the two.

#18 Peyton Manning, 6`5”, 230 pounds in his 18th season from Tennessee

Career numbers 266 games played, games started 265. Passes completed 6125 on 9380 attempts with a completion rating of 65.3%. He has 71940 passing yards and 539 touchdowns. He was MVP in 2003, 2004, 2006, and 2008. He was Super Bowl MVP in 2006. Pro Football Hall of Fame 2nd team All 2000 team in 2013. He played in the pro Bowl 14 times and made All Pro 7 times. We can go on and on about the accomplishments of Peyton Manning but what counts now is today not yesterday. Can Manning go out on top by winning Super Bowl 50 against the Panthers or will he show his mediocre skills under center. You have a lot of Manning waiting for “The Sheriff” to take Carolina`s “Superman” to the woodshed.

#1 Cameron Newton, 6’6”, 260 pounds in his 5th season from Auburn

Career numbers: 78 games played and 78 games started. Passes completed 1440 on 2419 attempts with a 59.7% completion rating. He has a total of 18263 with 117 touchdowns recorded. In 5 years he has rushed for 3207 yards on 599 carries. 43 rushing touchdowns with a 72 yard carry in 2012. Cam will rewrite the history books in his time. Cam has issued in the new wave of quarterbacks and theres no stopping “The Prototype!”

Super Bowl 50 will display a bit of the old and new, something borrowed and something blue (or teal). I can`t wait until February 7th showdown between these two guys. Take your pick it`s eith Peyton or Cam!

Super Bowl 50: Broncos Defense vs Panthers Defense

Broncos Defense versus Panthers Defense

by Da`Vince “Dino” Wright

It was once said that, “Defense wins championships!” If you take a look back at both teams defenses from the first game of the 2015-16 season. They were bound to bump heads. Who has the best defense between the two teams? Those questions will be answered in 2 weeks. The Bronco defense has household names and Defensive Coach Wade Phillips hold the keys to the gate. The Panthers are young, physical and wreckless and they are not afraid to lay the wood on opposing offenses. Lets take a look at both defenses.

The Denver Broncos

“Hells Gate” will open during the Super Bowl. Aqib Talib and Chris Harris, Jr. Will cover the no named receivers from the Panthers offense. Malik Jackson, Brandon marshall, DeMarcus Ware, and Von Miller will look to feast on Cam Newton. This defense was mentioned in the same breath as the `85 Bears! Denver`s defense is ranked number one across every defensive category in the league. The defensive line has 8 lineman and 6 linebackers that are interchangeable. So the pass rush from the Broncos won`t miss a beat. One the outside the corner backs plays on islands, no over the top coverage just man to man. You can believe that the Panthers won`t run the score up on them. This will be a very interesting game.

The Carolina Panthers

Roman Harper, Charles Johnson, Jarred Allen, Luke Kuechly and Josh Norman are just a few names that comes to mind when you talk about one of the most dynamic defenses the NFL has seen in a number of years. Luke Kuechly is the driving force between the numbers. He has changed the landscape of linebackers in the league. He along with Thomas Davis will give Peyton Manning the blues because of the weak Offensive line of the Broncos. It`s been mention that the Panthers defense looks like the 1970`s Dallas Dooms Day Defense. I can`t wait along with the football fanatics everywhere see these two dynamic defense square off on the last football Sunday of the season.

2016 NFC Championship Preview: Carolina Panthers vs Arizona Cardinals

Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers host the Arizona Cardinals for the NFC Championship.

2016 NFC Championship Game

By: Da`Vince “Dino” Wright

Carolina Panthers 15-1 NFC SouthArizona Cardinals 13-3 NFC West

Place: Bank Of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC
Time: 6:40 p.m.
Date: January 24, 2016

The Carolina Panthers came out in last weeks game and hit the Seattle Seahawks right in the mouth. That set the tone for what fans can expect from them. The Arizona Cardinals shocked everyone on how they played the Packers and pulled out a win. Now, this week we`re looking for a dynamic game from both teams. What can we expect on offense and defense from the Cardinals? Will CXam Newton be dominant against the Cardinal defense. Lets take a look at both teams and the keys for success.

Why you shouldn`t watch this game:

The WWE has a pay per view that starts at 7 and everyone wants to see Brock Lesnair, John Cena and Triple H.

Why you should watch this game:

All season fans wanted to see if Cam Newton will be exciting to watch as he runs, passes and dances all over the field all the way to Super Bowl 50! Or will Patrick Peterson pick off a pass and take it to the house for 6.

Arizona Cardinals

Carson Palmer is a good quarterback. When he`s on, he`s on! Larry Fitzgerald is the leader but he`s the X-factor. Carson Palmer has to get him the ball, not in the 4th quarter but early and often. Larry Fitzgerald has always been an excellent receiver but they never look to get him the ball. We can talk defense, offense and X`s and O`s. When you look at this team across the board he (Larry) has always been consistent. He is the key to victory hands down.

Carolina Panthers

Cam, Cam, Cam! He is the catalyst on offense. This game they have to bring him out of the pocket as a runner. You can best believe the last time they were this close he looked like a nervous freshman on the varsity during a must win district game. He played well but not like the superstar that he is. Luke Kuechly sets the stage for a stingy and very aggressive Panther defense. Look for a lot of heat being placed on Carson Palmer from the left side of the defensive line.

My Prediction

The Carolina Panthers advances to the Super Bowl by the score of 27-21. The Panthers are just to hot to be stopped. It`s their year .. Accept it!

Antonio Brown came up with two tremendous touchdown grabs as he sparked the Steelers to a 37-19 blowout win over the Panthers in Charlotte on Sunday night to improve the Steelers to 2-1 on the young season while the Panthers fell to 2-1.

The Panthers took care of their sideline leader today. Ron Rivera received a three-year extension. Rivera still has a year left on his current four-year deal, so essentially its another four-year deal. We just don't know the financial numbers yet, but I'm guessing it will be a solid raise for him.

Kaepernick Proves To Be Cam's Kryptonite.

Just a week after Colin Kaepernick hit Michael Crabtree 8 times for 125 yards and 2 TD's, he switches it up and finds Anquan Boldin 8 times for 136 yards and 0 TD's. Although not registering a touchdown today, he helped set up Vernon Davis for his only reception of the day, a 1 yard touchdown pass, and Kaepernick who ran for a 4 yard touchdown, which would eventually seal the deal for the San Francisco 49ers, who have now punched their ticket to the NFC Title Game winning 23-10, for a 3rd consecutive year under 3rd year coach, Jim Harbaugh, and a NFL record 15th overall appearance.

During Monday Night Football we got to see Panthers receiver Steve Smith and Patriots corner Aqib Talib go head to head. This match-up was chippy the whole night.

Smith had 4 catches for a total of 62 yards.

Smith and Talib had multiple run ins during the game, seemed like they were very close to throwing hands on a few plays.

NFL: Ranking The 0-2 Teams

winless season. Photo credit NFL

We are in week 3 of the young NFL season and eight teams have started out 0-2. Two teams were in the playoffs just last season, while others are perennial division favorites that find themselves rebuilding or nursing some critical injuries on their roster. Then again, some of the teams are just that bad.

1. Washington Redskins - You could make the argument that their first two games was an extended preseason, since their best player RGIII has only played in two games back from surgery. The have been blown out the first half of both games, but seem to be able to put up points in the second half.

NFL: NFC South Week 1 Reaction - Saints Marching In

New Orleans: Defense in Big Easy?
Sean Payton's return to the Big Easy reignited the Saints to a 23-17 Win v. Division Rival, & presumptive Super Bowl contender Atlanta. The offense remained dynamic & lethal in Payton's absence; and churned out 419 Yards on Sunday. It's Drew Brees' show, a big strike passing game that complements intermediate precision passing, and mixed in running opportunities. The true week 1 takeaway was the vastly improved Defensive performance.

Auburn's Nick Fairley the real winner from BCS Championship Game

The big winner from last night's BCS Championship may have been Auburn DL Nick Fairley. After an impressive performance against the high powered Oregon offense, Fairley may have solidified the #1 pick in the upcoming NFL draft. A big performance in last year's Big 12 Championship catapulted Ndamakong Suh to the #2 pick after Sam Bradford. The 2-14 Carolina Panthers have the first pick in the upcoming. They just hired San Diego defensive coordinator Ron Rivera as the new head coach. If Andrew Luck does stay at Stanford, no doubt the new coach will be looking to improve the defense.
