Day 2: The Dwight in the room

Location: Orlando

Hard to imagine that one player could dominate an event that celebrates 30 of the best players in the world, but Dwight has done it. It seems funny to see all the posters and billboards of the Magic big man knowing that in two weeks he may b

Day 1, 6:15am - The Start

Location: DFW Airport

The journey begins! Flight to ATL to handle some quick business then off to Orlando. It seems like this really started a week ago in San Antonio holding my ground while broadcasting live in front of true Spurs fans. Let's just say they reminded me constantly that the Mavs only have 1 title. Wednesday, I watched the Lakers beat the Mavs back home. My only joy in a late start to please west coast fans is interviewing Kobe Bryant. As always,  it was well worth it....more on that later.

Mavericks try to quiet trade rumors

With the March 15th deadline rapidly approaching, smoke usually means fire with trade rumors. None bigger than the biggest trade available with Dwight Howard and Deron Williams.

The buzz at the AAC last night centered around the missing Roddy Beaubois and Lamar Odom. Both were officially listed out for family reasons. The Mavericks have been actively shopping Roddy to see what the potential of a quick guard can get on the open market. Anyone bringing Roddy to their team would be looking primarily at potential only, since head coach Rick Carlisle barely gives him minutes. Rumors began to circulate through the halls of the sold out arena.

Questions regarding our information were repeatedly denied by Mavericks personnel, but what else is expected. All teams are playing it close to the vest during All-star weekend which ironically takes place in the house that Dwight built in Orlando.

The more shocking development was a tweet from reality TV star, and wife of Lamar Odom, Khloe Kardashian that she was battling a stomach ailment. Could that be reason enough to miss the last game before a long break against your former team that traded you for essentially nothing? If so, a trade may be a welcomed reality.

Sources: Roddy B and Lamar Odom trade in the works

Sources have told us that a Maverick trade is in the works that includes PG Roddy Beaubois and recently aquired point-forward Lamar Odom. The Mavericks have not confirmed such a trade is taking place.

Speculation regarding a trade has been fueled by rumors of the Mavs shopping Roddy and the absence of Lamar Odom for tonight's game against his former team the Lakers

Should the Mavs take a chance on Kenyon Martin?

Kenyon Martin has been cleared by the FIBA to play in the NBA. During his stint overseas he averaged 14 points per game. Sources say the Lakers, Spurs, Clippers, Heat, and Knicks are all in pursuit of Martin's services.

Could the Mavs use him?

Rick Carlisle has done an impressive job of pulling together ab ecclectic mix of NBA wanderers like Yi Jianglin, Delonte West, and Vince Carter. Even the addition of Lamar Odom has not been an easy fit, but seems to be working now.

What is missing from the former champions is an enforcer in the paint. Both Ian Mahnmi and Brendan Haywood have done an excellent job replacing Tyson Chandler's points and rebounds, but have yet to conjure up his toughness. This is Kenyon Martin's game.

Throw in the fact that he is from Dallas and he regularly visited the AAC to watch the Mavs play and this may be the best fit.
