NFC East:
Cognizant that 10-11 wins carries the 'NFC Beast', preseason prognostications ranged. Consensus varied from the Redskins repeating, Giants rebounding, to 'America's Team' reemerging. What nobody believed was the mystery of Chip Kelly's arrival in Philadelphia with holdover Michael Vick would be a resounding success. The Eagles Monday Night Football performance, in particular the first half, has put the league on notice.

After disappointment in Big D, the Giants have question marks & a difficult schedule lying ahead. And with Dallas, you've got a Quarterback and what many outsiders perceive to be a dysfunctional franchise that always appears on the verge of disaster. The positives for Dallas were the Defensive side, which appeared opportunistic generating turnovers, consistent pressure & limiting the Giants running game. The transition to the 4-3 Under with Monte Kiffin appears catalyzing into success.

The Redskins culminated the 2012 regular season with 7 straight wins, garnering their first Division Title since 1999. The season capped with a disappointing playoff loss v. Seattle, where QB RG3 succumbed to ACL & LCL injuries. The offseason shorelines in D.C. were the QB's health, and the first game led many to blame rust. In reality, RG3 is a dynamic athlete that didn't appear comfortable in the read option in his debut. But the real issues lie in his development as a Quarterback, and in particular his ability to play from the pocket when the circumstances demand it. We'll keep a close eye on the young Quarterback's health, but also on his continued development inside the Shanahan system. Without his ability to run the football, defenses will focus exclusively on stopping the Shanahan staple zone running concepts, forcing 'Must Pass' situations in 3rd & Long, where RG3 struggled mightily in 2012.
