The New York Yankees ran into one of the hottest pitchers in the American League Tuesday night as Detroit Tigers starter Rick Porcello (15-8) tossed eight stellar innings while yielding just two runs on nine hits as Detroit snapped the Yankees winning streak at 5 games with a 5-2 victory.

The New York Yankees offense continued to cook as they belted three home runs in an 8-1 rout of the Kansas City Royals on Monday night. New York has now won five consecutive games which matched their longest winning streak of the season.

Despite Yankees closer David Robertson blowing a 9th inning save, Brian McCann walloped a 3 run shot just inside of the right field pole off Jake Petricka (0-3) giving New York a 7-4 win and series sweep over the Chicago White Sox.

Sad news for the St Louis Rams as Bradford tore his ACL after suffering the same injury last season. He now faces another very long road to recovery and murky future with the team that drafted him with the #1 pick coming out of Oklahoma in 2010.

Bradley Wright-Phillips and Thierry Henry scored two goals apiece in the 2nd half at Red Bull Arena on Saturday night as the New York Red Bulls (7-7-10) overcame a 1-0 halftime deficit defeating the Montreal Impact 4-2 (4-15-5).
