It is time once again. Texas high school football action kicks-off this weekend with some major powerhouses colliding to get things started. With the formation of the 6A super conference, this year there will finally be one true champion.

1. Allen
Hard to deny a 27-game win streak, returning QB Kyler Murray, and a chance to three-peat as state champions. They are the champs until someone can knock them off.

2. Cedar Hill
QB Justin McMillan returns, along with eight offensive starters, to help the Longhorns’ pursuit of a back-to-back title. This year will be a much tougher road to get there.

3. DeSoto
The Eagles were arguably the best team the last two years in Texas. The will try to avenge a late loss to Allen in the state title game last year.

4. Katy
Before losing to Cedar Hill in the title game, Katy had a 31-game win streak. They will be looking to get their streak back going again.
