Chiefs started off fast as they methodically worked their way down field 73 yards and capped it with a 2 yard touchdown run by Jamaal Charles for the quick 7-0 lead.

Kansas City would again take the ball and this time score in lightening quick fashion as Charles once again got the score this time catching  a 5 yard pass from Alex Smith. That would up the lead to 14-0 and send the fans of KC into a frenzy at Arrowhead. It would be just the beginning of a what would be an all around great performance by Smith as he finished the night 20/26 for 248 yards and three touchdown passes.

The home team could not have asked for  a better start as they steamrolled that Patriots defense with big plays in the pass game. Dwayne Bowe and Travis Kelce would be the beneficiary of that as they tallied 81 and 75 yards respectively in the first half alone.

Patriots surprisingly would get off to a slow start on both sides of the ball as they had time finding their footing. New England's defense was being shredded by Charles and the Chiefs run game as lanes opened up easily in that Patriots defensive line.  It got Kansas city to be very balance don offense and kept New England's defense guessing on what they would see and if they could stop it. Charles and his running back teammate Knile Davis would finish with 92 and 107 yards rushing respectively.

As for their offense, Brady and company could not get into any rhythm at all as the Chiefs pass rush  was very active and effective, moving Brady off his spot, forcing some bad passes. New England's receivers had all sorts of trouble breaking the tight man to man coverage the KC secondary was playing effectively.

The Chiefs would add on a Cairo Santo 22 yard field goal as time expired in the first half to up the lead to 17-0 at the break.

Kansas City would continue to dominate in the second half as they got a turnover courtesy of Hali's strip of Tom Brady of the ball, which led to another Santos field goal which made it 27-0 at the time.

The defensive line of Kansas City was just sitting back and pinning their ears back with this big lead and were coming after Brady hard on every chance they got. This allowed their secondary to play even tighter coverage and force Brady to throw into some very tight windows.

New England finally would strike pay dirt as Brady three a 33 yard touchdown pass to Brandon Lafell to get on the board at 27-7. That would be  one of the very few highlights in what was a disaster of a performance by the Pats. Tom Brady would finish a very disappointing 14/23 for 159 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

Kelce would add to his already big  night with a 2 yard touchdown pass from Alex Smith and extend the Chiefs lead to 34-7.  He finished with 93 yards receiving on 8 receptions with that touchdown grab.
