The Raiders are coming off a horrendous performance in London where they were buried by the Miami Dolphins 38-14 this past Sunday afternoon. It added to what has already begun to look like another hopeless season for this once proud franchise.
Allen was hired prior to the start of the 2012 season with allot of optimism and hope for bringing winning back to Oakland that had not been since in over a decade. That unfortunately for himself and the franchise never developed as he finished his tenure 8-28 in two plus seasons as the head coach.
There never was any consistency or momentum developed in either of his seasons as the roster went through one makeover after another, this season infusing the team with a bunch of veteran players to count on to boost the win total and possibly make themselves into a wildcard contender if everything broke right.
Per Jim Trotter of ESPN, the Raiders have named Tony Sparano its head coach for the interim. The team has scheduled a 2 PM PST to officially named him to that position. He does have a former head coaching experience with the Miami Dolphins, with a record of 29-32 over three plus seasons with one playoff appearance coming in the 2008 season.
