No matter what happens in Game 7, the 76ers have already won
The stage is set for another epic game in this historic rivalry that includes some of the greatest players in NBA history. I have the Cs winning this game purely because they are at home, have a veteran team, and Rajon Rondo should be motivated to make-up for his bad play in Game 6.Even if Boston advances, the 76ers should consider forcing a game 7 a win. They started out the season red-hot, but took a huge nose dive after the All-Star break. 76ers entered the playoffs as a 8th seed having to go through the #1 seeded Bulls. Lady Luck has been wearing a '6ers jersey ever since. Injuries to Derek Rose and Joakim Noah helped pull off the upset. Now an injury to Avery Bradley and Ray Allen has helped push this series to 7 games.
For Doug Collins and his young team to get this kind of playoff experience together will be phenomenal for the organization and the players for years to come. The NBA is a "rite of passage" sport. First you make the playoffs and exit in the 1st round. Then you get the second round or conference finals to lose a close series in 6 or 7 games. Only after that, you finally build the mental make-up of a champion. Luckily for 76ers fans their team and coach get to do this together.

NBA Playoffs Round 2
Despite early exits from Utah and Dallas, the playoffs have gone as expected. We started with 16 and now we are down to 8. As we move to the second round, teams to watch are the Thunder, Pacers, and the Clippers. These young teams are built to win now and in the future. With and least 1 or 2 superstar and a wealth of talent on the bench, they can easily be crowned this years champions. With such a compact season, these young guns are primed mentally and physically to challenge anyone for the championship. Its hard to watch and at the same time hate to see the old guys struggle to compete with the next generation of superstars.Take a good look now because I suspect that we are about to see the a new NBA Champion!- Royce Fisher, RF Sports Radio

Mark Cuban, Mavs decide to keep Lamar Odom's Playoff Payout
Lamar Odom will not get his $14,000 payout for the Mavericks short run in the playoffs. The Mavericks were swept by the young OKC Thunder on Saturday. This comes as no surprise since Odom has not been with the team for quite some time.Click here for Jeff Caplan's Story

Should Drew Brees Stay With The Saints?
Many would look at the off season for the New Orleans Saints as a sports death march. Not only have they lost a head coach, a GM, staff, and players behind "bounty-gate", but they have yet to lock-up the most important piece to the puzzle Drew Brees. The Saints placed a franchise tag on Brees before the suspensions started to rain down much to the dismay of the former MVP. The last time Brees played under such designation he suffered a career-ending type injury on the last game of the season while a San Diego Charger. Many teams wrote him off after that except for the New Orleans Saints. Drew has been adamant that he will not start the season under a franchise tag; he wants to get paid.Should he resign with the Saints? The entire bounty program that caused the turmoil was designed to attack quarterbacks. Two of the more high targets, Brett Farve and Kurt Warner, ended their careers to Saints defensive "bounty" hits. Is Brees up to facing the possible retaliation from other defenses that missed out because their quarterback could not continue?
In the back of his mind he has to ponder; do I really know these people? Sean Payton has been suspended for the entire season for his cover-up of the whole bounty program after being warned a year prior. Saints GM Mickey Loomis will miss the half the season and has more recently been accused of having a device in his suite at the Superdome that would allow him to listen to the opposing team's headset conversations. Owner Tom Benson has not been willing to meet the QB's salary demands, but found over $300 million dollars to purchase the New Orleans Hornets. Brees' only saving grace to stick with the Saints may be the city of New Orleans. He and his wife have become pillars in the community since the devastation of hurricane Katrina. Saints fans can only hope that Saints management feel the same way.

Four Players Get Suspended over Saints' Bounty Program; Vilma Suspended for 2012 Season
The hammer has finally dropped. Roger Goddell and the NFL have finally issued out suspensions for the players they deemed most involved with the Saints' bounty program. Their level of involvement is debatable, but Jonathan Vilma, much like former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams and head coach Sean Payton, received the most severe punishment with a full season suspension.Click here for more details

3 Keys if Mavericks plan to win Game 2 over Thunder
On Saturday, the Oklahoma City Thunder pulled off a last second victory over the defending champion Mavericks.Up by 7 points with less than 3 minutes to go, they went on a 7 - 0 run to win by 1.Here are my 3 keys to a Maverick victory in game 2:- They must get support from the bench.
- Delonta West and Vince Carter have to contribute. Dirk and Terry must play well
- Dallas Big Men have to slow down the Thunder by rebounding and protecting the paint.

There is no QB controversy in DC
The Washington Redskins selected with the 2nd pick in the 2012 NFL Draft the new face of the franchise Robert Griffin III. Then in the 4th round selected with the 102nd pick in the draft QB Kirk Cousins. This immediately drew the backlash of NFL analysts and scouts alike. Why would you want to bring in another rookie QB? Why start a QB controversy?
There is no controversy. Period. If Robert Griffin III can not outplay Kirk Cousins then he deserves not to be the starter. The QB position in the NFL is the most important position in sports. Nobody should blame Mike Shanahan for drafting Cousins to be an understudy for his offense. The Redskins have tried the veteran route for years with no success. Now they will the luxury of grooming a top QB prospect in their own offensive scheme. Just look at what teams like Green Bay and New England have done with Aaron Rodgers, Matt Flynn, Matt Cassel, and Ryan Mallett. This is good business for any franchise.- Rodney Fisher, RF Sports Radio

Carlisle wants all the blame for Game 1 loss
Up by 7 with less than 2 minutes left on the road in game 1 of a playoff series against the most athletic team in the NBA sounds like a steal for the oldest team in the league, but no. On a last second shot by Kevin Durant, NBA scoring champion for a third straight year, the Thunder get the win. The shot was well contested by Shawn Marion, but got a lucky bounce. Dirk Nowitzki turned the ball over in the last minute to give the Thunder a break-away slam to give them a 1 point lead before Dirk hit two clutch free throws. In short, a lot of different story lines to the game and it's outcome, but head coach Rick Carlisle wants all the blame.During the post game press conference, Carlisle did not shy away from the criticism and even put more on himself. "We should have double teamed [Durant] and got the ball out his hands...blame me", he stated. He is probably right, but hard to argue the defense Shawn Marion played on Durant making the shot as difficult as it was. More of the blame should go the coach for not having a timeout left after he made the shot. There was 1.5 seconds on the clock which in basketball is enough time get a good shot off after advancing the ball. Knowing that he did not have a timeout left, maybe there should have been a set play to run to get the ball in hands of a better shooter than Shawn Marion. The Thunder assumed that Dallas would take a timeout and did not react to the inbound pass until mid-court.
After taking the blame, Carlisle reminded us of the one thing that his Maverick team has over every team in the playoffs this year; age. The Mavericks are the most veteran team in the league, even more than San Antonio and Boston. He says his guys will battle back and "keep coming...guns blazing every game". They have been threw these type of situations before in 12 start years in the playoffs.LIVE from #LoudCity for Mavs vs Thunder Game 1 - Pregame Report
It is playoff time...
The feel in the Mavs locker room was anxiety as the players awaited the start of the real season. Delonte West after suffering a stomach illness will play. Dirk chose to skip the locker room media invasion to shoot hoops in front of the Thunder crowd with Brad Davis. James Harden did the same thing getting ready for his first game back from a concussion.
The stage is set. The players are ready. The season for the Mavs starts now...

These means the entire first round of the playoffs and $348,000 lost. Ironically, if the Lakers survive round 1 they will play the Thunder next.

Video: What should happen to Metta World Peace (Ron Artest)?
In case your cable or satellite bill is somewhat behind, the player formerly known as Ron Artest elbowed Thunder 6th man James Harden in the back of the head. Metta World Peace has been open about his struggle with anger management and social disorder since his infamous "Malice in the Palace" incident that made him a house hold name. Now that the deed is done, what should his punishment be? 5 game suspension? 2 game suspension? What do you think?

2012 NFL Schedule Released - Big Matchups
The popularity of the NFL is higher than if has ever been. With the NBA season coming to a close, MLB starting to heat up, and the NHL playoffs giving us overtime hockey; the release of the NFL schedule is the top story.Throw in the mix that the NFL will dominate headlines next week with the draft and truly the sport has become year-round entertainment. Biggest change has to be the advancement of games played on Thursday throughout the season and adding some Tuesday night games towards the end to compliment Saturday and Sunday. Sundays are for football. This is what has made the NFL special since it's inception. Roger Goddell needs to tread carefully with his plans for television expansion throughout the week. Sometimes diminishing what has always worked for something new does not work at all.

Mavs cut ties with Lamar Odom
After a loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night, the Mavericks staff decided it was time to part ways with Lamar Odom. They spent Easter Sunday working on the conditions of his release. Odom did release this statement to ESPNDallas.com, "The Mavericks and I have mutually agreed that it's in the best interest of both parties for me to step away from the team. I'm sorry that things didn't work out better for both of us, but I wish the Mavs' organization, my teammates and Dallas fans nothing but continued success in the defense of their championship."
At this point, Lamar will not be eligible to play on any team's playoff roster. It should be noted that the Mavs are 0-7 when Lamar has not played, but they have lost their share of games when he has.

Derek Fisher returns to Staples Center to face Lakers; Bynum and Kobe Comments
This will not be Derek Fisher's first time returning to LA to face the team that drafted him in 1996. Fisher spent two of his 16 seasons in the NBA with the Golden State Warriors. Every other season he has donned the purple and gold. Ironically, his return in 2005 propelled Derek to a career high 29 points. His return now after being traded to the Rockets, then bought out, and now joining the best team in the west in Oklahoma City is different.
Fisher is nearing the end of his NBA career and the move to remove him from the Lakers was purely a salary cap play. A new salary cap that Fisher, president of the NBAPA, spent the entire off season debating with NBA owners to end a lockout with a shortend 66-game schedule. Although the Lakers brought Fisher back last time he left, this feels final.
Last week after the Lakers beat the Mavs handily in Dallas I asked Andrew Bynum about not having Derek on the roster. He said he was happy the he ended up with a contender like the Thunder and how fitting it would be for Derek to hit the big shot to win a playoff series over the Lakers. Well all know that is very possible with Fisher's history of hitting the big shots.
Kobe echoed the same sentiment, but with his competitive bravado intact. "I'm happy for him...but he better not try to guard me. I'm sure he will put an elbow in my back, but that's just the type of competitor he is." He went on to say that his return to LA would be "emotional". Fans will respond with emotion as well. Lamar Odom's return came with a standing ovation from Laker Nation, Fisher should be the same.
More importantly for the Lakers is to get the win regardless of who is on the court for the Thunder.

Bill Parcells may take over for Sean Payton
Sean Payton has always considered Bill Parcells his coaching mentor, even before they teamed up in Dallas with the Cowboys. Payton has been in constant contact with Parcells throughout the investigation by the NFL and after being suspended for one year.
Payton met with the Saints organization and was unable to name a interim coach. Steve Spagnoulo has heading coaching experience, but this is first year with the team taking over the defense. Peter Carmichael, who everyone assumed would be the interim, passed on the opportunity.
Payton has decided to be present for the owner meetings taking place this upcoming week. There has even been speculation that he may take an analyst job during his layoff with Fox, but that seems a little premature. He also has not decided if he will appeal his suspension, which runs from April 1 to after the Super Bowl. If he does appeal and get his sentence reduced, it is likely that Parcells would not officialy get an interim coach offer from the Saints.
