Peyton Manning does want to return for another season, but cannot make that statement official until he goes through his annual physical. That could take a while since he has had to get tests for his neck and calf, the latter of which he suffered an injury to during this past regular season.

At 38, his body is not what it was even five years ago so these type of nagging injuries like a calf injury are bound to happen or at least have  a higher percentage of occurring. Manning is smart to take his time with a decision of this weight. He knows his body better than everyone else and know show much he cans till get out of it playing wise.

If the tests turn up well and are green lighted by a doctor, their is no reason why he cannot comeback and still be a very effective quarterback for the Broncos franchise.

This is a great sign for Denver which had to be crossing their fingers as a franchise after having to see Manning be non committal about wanting to return for next season. Allot of change has gone on since they fell to the Colts in the Divisional round of the NFL Playoffs.

A whole new coaching staff, headed by new head coach Gary Kubiak, is now in place and their could be significant shake up in the roster as the Broncos have a pleura of free agents to decide on who they want to retain and to who they want to let go.

The future Hall of Famer is set to make $19 million next season which will also factor into just how the front office of the Broncos shape this roster moving forward.

Manning has had conversations already with Kubiak on a wide range of topics, a positive sign that the relationship between the two is healthy and productive.

Despite all this it looks as if Manning is willing to take this new challenge head on and see where it takes him and the franchise.
