The situation with Head Coach of the Broncos John Fox and his job security took another turn today.

According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, Fox and the Broncos have decided to go their separate ways after four seasons. Fox met with John Elway this afternoon and decided that they had arrived at the endpoint of this arrangement.
He has a sterling regular season record of 46-18, winning the AFC West division all four seasons he has been at the helm. Now his postseason record of 3-4 is a mark that cannot be ignored and not open to criticism, especially when the quarterback is one of the all time greats in Peyton Manning.
The Super Bowl blowout is a memory that will not soon go away until the franchise goes back and wins the Lombardi trophy again. Yesterday's loss to the Colts was greatly disappointing after another great regular season run. The postseason troubles are something that fan and media point to as a reason that the organization should at least reevaluate Fox and if it is the right move to keep him as head man of the team moving forward.
Now, the idea that the Broncos fire Fox for someone else and think that person can do better is crazy to me. Fox has done nothing but put his blood, sweat and tears into this organization and maximize the talent on his roster.
The coach can only do so much to put players in position to win before the players themselves have to go out and execute the game plan and make the big plays happen. You have never heard word one out of Denver about player's discontent with Fox or his coaching staff and how they treat them or go about using them in the game plans.
In the end though the Broncos will gamble on a new head coach, banking on that they can somehow take this franchise back to the mountain top and stay there. Who they will look to hire will be interesting to see as they are jumping in this process pretty late and have many other questions to still answer in terms of who they will look to retain with the multiple free agents on the roster.
