Dallas-- The Dallas Mavericks can't seem to figure it out. They have now lost their third game in a row for the first time this season, losing to the Memphis Grizzlies 109-90. Both players and head coach have their ideas on how to get back to winning.

After a hot start by the home team Mavericks, they allowed the Grizzlies to pull even 24-24 at the end of the first quarter. Memphis went on a 26-12 run with eight minutes left in the second quarter to take a 12-point lead. They never looked back after that. They lead by as much as 21-points in the second half.

Did I also mention that both Mike Conley and Tony Allen did not play?

"Right now, our inability to sustain at a high level...", says head coach Rick Carlisle. He went to highlight the lack of defense late in the shot clock as he rattled off astronomical point totals scored by appoints in the last three games with eight seconds or less on the shot clock.

The players understand that need to play better individually and as a a team. It may be a ton of basketball left before the playoffs, but in the Western Conference a three-game losing streak can drop you from third place to sixth place. They are currently the only team in the Southwest Division nursing a losing streak.

The Mavs are not getting the help from the bench like they have prior to the start of the losing streak from anyone. Rajon Rondo's defense has seemed lacking more as the season starts to move on, even though he has been heralded as a smart passer that can defend and rebound.

They travel to Houston to play the Rockets tonight. Things will get an easier.
