Raiders on the Move?

Currently the Oakland Raiders are contemplating relocating the organization.

I’ve been a fan of the Raiders ever since I saw Bo Jackson play for them. To be a fan of the Black and Silver is a badge of honor. We’re some of the most rabid and loyal fans in any sport.

Good or bad, Raiders’ fans show up in force. For this very reason, if the decision is made, I hope they move the organization back to Los Angeles.

There are a plethora of pros to this move. The fan base is already there and sold on the team, no matter what. The Raiders have already been in L.A. so not only will fans and the organization know what to expect, the vendors in the surrounding area will already be primed and ready for the Raiders’ return, as well.

Plus, with Magic Johnson joining the group of investors for a new L.A. stadium, the move to L.A. seems much more viable than any other place. However, the only other city that would make sense is a Texas one.

San Antonio makes sense for several reasons, as well. There is a fan base that is extremely excited about the possibility of an NFL franchise. They already are utterly loyal to another team that wears black and silver.

There would be an interesting dynamic between fans from San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas (see the NBA teams for an example). And, to be quite honest, Texas is the definitive football state.

If the Raiders do opt for a change of scenery, I’m hoping in my heart of hearts, they return to Los Angeles. If not, I guess I’d better get ready to start planning a few trips to San Antonio.
