Dallas Mavericks Announce 2015 PreSeason Schedule

DALLAS – The Dallas Mavericks announced their 2015 preseason schedule today, which tips off on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 7:30 pm at American Airlines Center against the Denver Nuggets.

The 2015 preseason schedule will see Dallas play three home games at American Airlines Center, two games at opposing NBA arenas and two neutral site games. In addition to hosting the Nuggets on Oct. 6, the Mavericks will also take on the Atlanta Hawks (Oct. 16) and the Phoenix Suns (Oct. 21) at American Airlines Center.

The Mavericks’ first preseason road test will be a rematch of the first round of the 2015 NBA Playoffs when they travel to Houston to battle the Rockets on Oct. 7. Dallas will then travel to Tulsa, Okla., to play the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Bank of Oklahoma Center on Oct. 13.   

After road matchups with James Harden and Kevin Durant, Dallas will face LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena on Oct. 19. The Mavericks conclude their preseason with another neutral site game at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Neb., where they will take on Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls on Oct. 23.

All of the preseason games can be heard on ESPN 103.3 FM and in Spanish on ESPN Deportes (1540 AM). TXA 21 will broadcast the opening preseason game versus Denver on Oct. 6 and the game at Cleveland on Oct. 19. Fox Sports Southwest will televise the meeting with Phoenix on Oct. 21.

Following preseason play, Dallas tips off the 2015-16 regular season on the road against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, Oct. 28. The Mavericks home opener is slated for Tuesday, Nov. 3 when the Toronto Raptors come to town. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through mavs.com or by calling 214-747-MAVS.

Tailgate State: Top 25 College Football Rankings Week 1

As the Dog Days of Summer come to a close, I think back on how many “Adult” Snow Cones I consumed weekly after work. The 4th of a July Fireworks and BackYard BBQs that distracted Me from the important stuff of Life.The things that matter, like spending all Saturday on the couch. Curled up with a laptop, She lounges in Her Longhorns Jersey and sweats, vegging out to all the games across the nation. It is officially College Football season this Thursday!!!

Last season finished out with a Boom! The College Playoff system netted Us a True Champion during its introduction to the World. Some teams still were left on the outside looking in at the 4 team party. Leaving plenty of debates for guys like Me, hanging on to the ESPNU reruns. The overall results saw The Top 2 teams out in the 1st round and the True UnderDog became a Champion. This embodies everything that College Football stands for to Me as a Fan. It is the 28 point 4th Quarter comeback, the Field Goal miss return for a Touchdown (Shots Fired) and the feeling of defeat as Your team falls out of Playoff contention. Now that Football is back, it is time to begin the debate of Who is #1. 

So, I will make this Short and Sweet and give You the list with only a small recap. Let’s Go

You can see that I do not always agree with everything that the other members of the Press say, but that is what makes Me Omie D! I do agree that Alabama is a Top 5 team but I won’t give them #3(Shots Fired). I also had a few shake ups in the Top 25, I had to rank Texas A&M, Kansas St in the Top 25, but I dropped Boise St. I am a Big Boise St fan, I just want to see more from this team and the West Coast Conferences this season.

Desoto (0-1) will have the tough task of bouncing back against the #2 ranked team in the Nation, IMG Academy.

Many people will tell you that IMG is really 1-1. They loss a preseason game to American Heritage 19-7 before beating Miramar 38-14 last Sunday.

DeSoto took a shocking "L" against district rival Arlington Martin 46-26 after being held scoreless the entire 1st half of the game. The offense averaged 48 points per game last year.

New DeSoto coach Todd Peterman says they have had a great week of practice since the loss. Players seem to be more engaged than ever and will need that fire for their home opener this Saturday.

IMG's offense is led by QB Shea Patterson, a Mississippi recruit and ranked at the top of most quartback lists. He threw three touchdowns in the first half and did not play in the second half against Miramar.

DeSoto QB Tristan Wallace, Ohio State recruit, had a bad completion percentage even though he threw for 484 yards in an effort to catch-up.

This will be the best matchup of the week nationwide...
