December 19th was the deadline for trades in the first half of the season. The Rockets are known to always be aggressive looking for pieces to add to their championship caliber roster at any time.

Help came in the form of Corey Brewer as the Rockets sent over Troy Daniels and a couple of second round picks.
The third team involved was the Sixers who had taken Ronnie Turiaf from the Wolves and they received a second round pick as well. Shved was sent over to Houston as well.
Brewer will help the Rockets in multiple ways he is an athletic wing who has limited offensive skills but defends well and will provide for good depth behind Trevor Ariza and James Harden.

Brewer averaged 10.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.3 steals for the Timberwolves this season. Brewer will also be familiar with Coach McHale for the Rockets as he drafted Brewer when he was in Minnesota. The Rockets currently sit at 19-6 and help from Brewer can keep them up top of a loaded Western Conference.
It is also worth noting that Houston was also in the running for Rajon Rondo before the Dallas Mavericks were able to seal the deal. Acquiring Brewer and Shved at the December 19th deadline means they can also be eligible to be traded at the February trade deadline if Houston decided to make another move.Follow me on Twitter: @NDMHoops
