Washington (3-5) gets its first win in the NFC East Division, meanwhile Dallas (6-2) has its six game winning streak snapped. They  have their lead in the  NFC East cut down to a half game over the Eagles.

The Redskins would take advantage of very good field position on their first drive.  They were able to move it down deep into Cowboys territory before the drive stalled out. Kai Forbath hit a 44 yard field goal to give Washington the early 3-0 lead.

Dallas would get off to a slow start on offense as they could not find any rhythm against this Redskins defense at all. Romo was getting pressured and sacked on multiple occasions, causing him to hurry his throws and making him inaccurate. DeMarco Murray had a fumble after  a tremendous run that would have setup the Cowboys in the Redskins red zone.

Cowboys offense finally woke up on an 80 yard drive that featured a balanced attack. It was finished off with Dez Bryant, who came alive on that drive, who caught a 5 yard touchdown pass from Tony Romo to give the Cowboys their first lead of the night at 7-3.

The offensive line did a much better job giving Romo time to throw and for opening up lanes for Murray to run through which had the Redskins defense on its heels that entire series.

Surprisingly Washington came out and went through the Dallas defense as if it was not even there, marching down 80 yards to take the lead again on a Alfred Morris 5 yard touchdown run. Redskins confused the Cowboys a couple of time son that drive which resulted in some big chunk plays for themselves.

Tony Romo would leave the game with a back injury of some sort. Brandon Weeden would enter and Murray would lead the cowboys down to the red zone where the drive stalled. Dan Bailey nailed a 21 yard field goal to even the score at 10. With Romo out, Murray's running would become even more important to lean on.  Murray would again finish with over 100 yards rushing, specifically 141 yards on 19 carries.

Colt McCoy would impressively lead an 80 yard drive that would culminate in a 6 yard touchdown run by McCoy on 3rd and goal from the six yard line to give the Redskins a 17-10 lead.   Again Washington burned the Dallas secondary with a deep pass from McCoy to Jackson to setup the touchdown.McCoy would have a sensational performance as he completed 25/30 for 299 yards an done interception thrown.

Weeden would not be outdone as he would answer right back and lead the Cowboy son a touchdown drive that would see the backup quarterback from Oklahoma St be very sharp and quick with getting the ball out, not taking any chances with risky throws. He would find a wide open Jason Witten who barreled into the end zone form 25 yards out. The game once again was tied at 17.

It would stay 17 all into the overtime session where the Redskins got on the board first, scoring a field goal courtesy of Forbath who nailed it from 40 yards to give Washington a 20-17 lead at the time.

Romo would reenter the game as his Cowboys had one last chance to either tie or win the game and on a 4th & 3 the Redskins defense was able to get the stop and preserve the win. Romo finished the night 17/28 for 209 yards and one touchdown pass.
