Despite being unable to land LeBron James or Carmelo Anthony, the Los Angeles Lakers were able to acquire Jeremy Lin from the Houston Rockets.

As we all know, Lin shined brightest in his days with the New York Knicks, where he took the world by a storm as ‘Linsanity’ kept trending for quite some time. He averaged career figures of 14.6 points and 6.2 assists per game, back in 2012. In addition, coach Mike D’Antoni’s run and gun offense, was a perfect fit for Lin, as he relentlessly drove to the cup with his impressive speed. It looked as if Lin would be in New York for years to come, but unfortunately for him the Knicks decided to move on and find another player to fill his role. That enabled Lin to go and sign with the Houston Rockets.
Lasts season with Rockets, the 25-year-old point guard from Harvard averaged 12.5 points and 4.1 assists per game. Lin was part of a team that re energized the Rockets franchise and got them going back in the right direction on the court. However, the arrival of Dwight Howard and the emergence of James Harden and Chandler Parson, it certainly became difficult for Lin to play his game as he was clearly overshadowed by their presence, which eventually led to his limited production. The emergence of those three players also led to Lin’s allotment of game minutes to shrink dramatically, adding to the fuel to want to move onto another team who could provide him with more playing time. It became of matter of not when was Lin going to be deal but where he exactly end up.
But now with a new team—the Lakers, he will have another opportunity to restore his true value next season. Playing alongside future hall of famers Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash will definitely be of great benefit for him, as their experience and guidance will further push him to reach his maximum potential as a pro.  It is possible that he may even overtake Kendall Marshall as the starting point guard for the team, as we all know how offensively capable he is.
La La Land is definitely looking forward to see him play next season, and we wonder if this could be a Linsanity part II?
Let’s hope so.
