Looks like a trade has to happen at this point. This will not end well for the Rangers. They will have to pay a large chunk of his large salary for him to help another team. A-Rod all over again....We will talk about this on tonight's show...
Tampa Bay Rays in talks with Manny Ramirez, Johnny Damon; Texas Rangers out on the deal
Media in Dallas have been monitoring the Manny Ramirez deal closely. Texas Rangers GM Jon Daniels made comments during Fan Fest yesterday that they were looking to add another veteran bat to the lineup. The assumption around the local media was Manny Ramirez. Fresh off surgery and ready to prove his worth, Manny has been in talks with several teams around the league. Rumors of him going to the AL West Angels have cooled down with the signing of OF Vernon Wells, a local Arlington product. Reports have now stated that a deal has been reached between the Tampa Bay Rays, Manny Ramirez and ex-teammate Johnny Damon. ESPN.com has the story here:

The philosophy to load the lineup with power hitters has not worked in the past, although it did provide some high scoring losses. GM Jon Daniels and team president Nolan Ryan seem to be stacking the deck for another mid-season trade for a ace pitcher rental.
