The Eagles have brought on board Tim Tebow to see what he could add to their team.

Philadelphia has set itself up for quite the quarterback competition with all the new faces they have brought in to compete for the starting job. The likes of Mark Sanchez, Matt Barkley, Sam Bradford were already in the fold. One that was recently added to the mix was one Tim Tebow.

Tim Tebow was not brought in to be a possible  running back or receiver type of role, he is getting that opportunity to prove himself once again as a quarterback that can get the job done on an NFL team.

All you have to do is listen to Eagles new vice president of player personnel Ed Marynowitz on what they saw from the former Florida Gator (via NFL.com):

"We worked him out and we saw improvement from the last time we saw him, had exposure to him live when we played New England when they practice here," the Eagles' new vice president of player personnel Ed Marynowitz said Thursday, via NFL.com. "When we worked him out, we saw a great deal of improvement with him"

Now it is one thing to be able to perform at a high level in front of just a few front office people and do it at your own pace. It is another thing to make this improve stand up when in the heat of the battle during an actual regular season game that has allot riding on it.

Now Tebow could truly have improved his mechanics and overall game but to the point where he could be the likes of Bradford, Sanchez and Barkley out? I am not buying that. There is only so much a quarterback specialist can do to help a quarterback out in terms of his ability to throw consistently, change his motion and ability to read the defenses.

A coach can make adjustments to a throwing motion but he cannot take it apart and rebuild it completely into something brand new that will help the quarterback improve his plan ten fold. Tebow's mechanics for throwing  a ball  are what they are.

It has been proven not to be good enough to hang around the NFL  with it when he has had ample opportunity to lead teams in the past as the starter. Ye she has had some success in the past, leading the Broncos to  a playoff win but also has had moments where he just fizzles out completely.

It just seems at this moment it would be a long shot for him to win this Eagles starting quarterback job with the other proven quarterback sin this race that have more consistency with their throws than Tebow.

The Eagles may have found something in Tebow that they like right now, but that does not mean he is going to play a significant role on this team come the new season.

This is a case of wait and see with this situation. For now, it is just another name added to the very crowded Philadelphia quarterback contest that will go on well into the summer.
